Ok, I'll be honest - I don't know French at all. And not willingly. When I was in school, I had the option of studying either German or Sanskrit as an additional language. I took up German and loved it. But my point is that if they had offered me French back then, I would have known not to call myself a flâneur everywhere on this blog! Because, as I learnt today, the female version of flâneur is flâneuse. Oops!

Changes made in the appropriate sections of the blog. And that's one more reason to the long list of reasons I want to learn French. Any good recommendations for Beginner French lessons in Central or West London?

How I see my cities

I often think that I don't see the cities I live in (Delhi and London, so far), in the same way as I look at the ones I visit. Every new place bursts into my consciousness as I experience it - much like a brilliantly coloured firecracker. When you start living in a city, the brilliant embers start to die down. You become ingrained in the city, one with it, you flow with it, and therefore lose the higher vantage point of an 'outsider's point of view'. Often when I click my city, I try to remind myself to look at it as an outsider would.

The funny thing is that now that I've lived in London for sometime, I look at Delhi like that.
